Wine and Weddings
Knorhoek has done it again!  We entered the market in 1997 with a Knorhoek Cabernet Sauvignon voted the best Cab of that year, also winning double gold.   With many medals and awards in between,  Arno Albertyn, jaw now intact, has nurtured the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon to be given FOUR STARS   by Wine magazine.
This is not all!  The Knorhoek Cabernet Franc 2006 received the Terrior award and our superb flagship Knorhoek Pantere 2005 also receiving FOUR STARS from Wine magazine

Suraine Classen, our guest house manager, had a dream wedding at Towerbosch.  It was a typical Cape autumn sunny day and as she  made her way down the pathway, under a canopy of oaks and poplars, there was a loud ovation from the guest house staff! The groom's father officiated and remarked that he had never before had wine barrels as a "pulpit".  Westley, the chef, pulled out all the stops for a superb meal and a wonderful time was had by all, even the gate-crasher, Merlot, the bull terrier.

Maelle and George had the dream of an "Out of Africa" wedding in Stellenbosch - Towerbosch immediately came to mind and turned out to be the dream fulfilled. A truly international group of guests attended the wedding - Russian, Japanese, French, British and even someone from Senegal, working in Kinshasa.  Notwithstanding the torrential rain, a magical African setting was created with fires, burning torches, candles and tasteful understated decor. Merlot was present for the setting up of the venue!!

Wine Maker out of Action

Knorhoek's sporting winemaker, Arno Albertyn, is temprarily out of action.  He has broken his jaw!   Not falling off a wine vat, or being hit by a fully loaded trailer , not defending someone's honour, but a collision during a game of touch rugby!  The harvesting of perfectly ripe Chenin Blanc has to be put on hold until after rather serious surgery.  He plans to be back in action (not rugby) on Monday 8 March.
